The Rural Community Action Programme is funded by the Welsh Assembly Government and aims to support community actions and build on existing capacity in the area to develop new opportunities in Ceredigion. The strategic management of the Rural Community Action Programme in Ceredigion programme is overseen and monitored by the Ceredigion Economic Regeneration Partnership. The Partnership was established in order to oversee the delivery of the Objective One programme in Ceredigion.
The Partnership meets monthly, and it has also been agreed (subject to a review of the membership and the balance of Public, Private, Voluntary and Community members) that it will also serve as the strategic Partnership for the Local Development Strategy, and be responsible for the delivery of Convergence and RDP funding in Ceredigion.
The Lead Delivery organisation for the RCA is Antur Teifi, who has been in this role since the inception of the programme in 2003-4. The Programme is delivered by Antur Teifi and during 2006-7 and 2007-8, this has been carried out in partnership with the Local Authority, who delivered the Community Consultation events, and provided some match funding in kind to the programme. For the year 2008-9, CAVO (Ceredigion Association of Voluntary Organisations) will work in partnership with the programme, with particular emphasis on continued development of the Community Enterprise Action Plan. Support and guidance is provided by the Rural Executive of the DE&T of the WAG.
